2024 Release Notes: Release M

Released July 3, 2024

Bulk Upload Using a CSV File Now Supports Custom Categories – When you upload content assets to PathFactory via the CSV File Upload Template, you can now include taxonomy updates to Custom Categories and their associated tags. Additionally, when you download a CSV file record of the Content Library, tags for Custom Categories are now included.

Need a refresher on how to upload content assets in bulk? Refer to the section, Bulk Upload or Update Assets Using a CSV File, in the article Tutorial: How to Manage Assets, Tagging and Taxonomy in Your PathFactory Content Library

Source URL Column Added to the Content Library – In the Content Library, you’ll notice a new column that displays the source URL of each asset at a glance.

Enhanced API Integration for Segment Rules – We have improved our API integration to enhance data flow and integration between PathFactory and Marketing Automation Platforms (MAP). These enhancements make it easier to share valuable information about page variations and segment rules with other MAPs, providing more detailed insights and improved personalization.

Here are the key updates:

  • Segment Rule Data in APIs: Segment Rule IDs and Names are now included in PathFactory V3 API Endpoints. When an API call is made, the segment rule label (name) will be displayed.
  • Field Merge Values: Segment Rule data points can now be used in external code and hidden form fields.
  • Webhooks and Integrations: Segment Rule IDs and Names are also included in PathFactory Webhooks and our integration with Marketo.

Note: This feature is automatically activated in your instance.

Conditional Webhooks Now Available for Multiple MAP Instances – Introducing conditional webhooks, a feature for our customers who use multiple instances of Marketing Automation Platforms (MAP). You can now trigger a webhook based on the domain from which the data originates, to help direct data from specific domains to the appropriate MAP instance. You can also trigger a webhook based on the folder where the data is stored. This helps route data from specific folders to the correct MAP instance. Note: To use this feature, your administrator must first activate the Conditional Webhook toggle within Integrations. To find out how to create and use this webhook, read Setting Up Webhooks

Improved Content Playlist Share Links – We’ve enhanced Content Playlists by making share links shorter and cleaner, delivering a better experience for your buyers.

The new format for a Content Playlist Sharing Link is:

  • sharedomainurl.com/contentplaylistslug/

To share a specific starting asset, the link will be:

  • sharedomainurl.com/contentplaylistslug/assetslug

Improved Visitor Identification and Routing for Better Personalization – We’ve made updates to enhance the personalization of your visitors’ experiences when they visit a PathFactory content experience or website. Now, we use the lb_email query string in the URL to identify the visitor’s email domain (like @company.com). This information helps us provide a more personalized experience right from the start. If we can’t identify the visitor’s domain using this method, we then use the IP address as a backup to ensure a seamless experience.

Thumbnail Images Are Automatically Displayed for Content Assets in Collections – You no longer need to select Fallback or OG images for assets when you are creating Collections in the PathFactory Content Library. Assets in Collections now use the default thumbnail images those assets have associated with them in your main Content Library. If you want to use a different thumbnail image for an asset in a specific Collection, you have the option to change it. For step-by-step instructions on how to create Manual or Smart Collections, read How to Create and Use Collections For Templated Experiences & Content Playlists
