The PathFactory Chrome Extension allows you to seamlessly share curated Content Experiences via email to contacts in PathFactory for Revenue Intelligence (PFRI). By integrating Templated Experiences and Content Playlists, you can embed specific content assets directly into your emails, streamlining distribution and increasing engagement with PFRI contacts. Follow the steps below to install, activate, and use the extension effectively.
1. Download PathFactory Chrome Extension
Note: If you have previously downloaded the extension for PathFactory for Sales, you do not need to download it again. Skip to the next section to see how to activate the Chrome extension for PathFactory.
- Download the PathFactory Chrome Extension from the Chrome Extension Application store.
- Enter PathFactory in the search field, and in the search results select PathFactory Chrome Extension.
- After downloading the extension, pin it to your Chrome browser’s address bar for easy access. To do this, click the puzzle piece icon in the top right corner of your Chrome address bar. Find the PathFactory extension and click its thumbtack icon to pin it to the address bar.
Now that the extension is installed, you must activate it by following the instructions below.
2. Activate the Chrome Extensions
This section outlines how to activate the enhanced integration of Templated Experiences and Content Playlists in the PathFactory Chrome Extension and Sales Tool Configuration.
- Click on your username in the top right corner of the screen, and then select Organization Settings from the dropdown menu.
- Select the PFRI Settings tab as shown below.
- Scroll down the tab to the Browsing Pre-Built Experiences section, as highlighted in the screen capture below.
- Select the checkboxes for the types of content you want to be able to share with your PFRI contacts, such as Content Playlists, Templated Experiences, Explore, Microsite, Recommend, Target, and Virtual Events.
- Once you have made your selections, click Save Settings to apply the configurations.
How to Embed Content Assets in a Gmail Message
Ensure you are logged into the Chrome Extension before attempting to use it. To check, click on the PathFactory icon in the address bar. If you are not logged in, you will be prompted to do so. After you have verified you are signed in, proceed with the steps below.
- In a Chrome browser window, open your Gmail account.
- At the top of the browser window, click on the PathFactory Extension icon. If prompted, log in to Google.
- In the Gmail application, click Compose to begin creating an email message.
- To embed content assets in the email, position your cursor where you want to insert them, and then click the PathFactory Extension icon.
- A window opens to display all of the content assets to which you have access, so you can choose which ones to send via email. You can sort and filter the list to navigate the folders in which the content assets are stored.
- Select a folder of content assets by clicking its associated View Content Assets button.
- A menu opens for you to page through the assets in the given folder.
- To select content assets to share, click on each one. To remove any of them, click on them again. To share the content assets via a link, click Copy Link on the given content asset.
- To proceed, click Insert. To leave without saving, click Cancel.
- After you click Insert, you’ll see the assets in the email message, as highlighted in the screen capture below.
- Add your marketing copy or message in the body of the email, add recipients, and a subject line. When you are ready to send, click Send.
Tracking
Similar to tracking limitations in most MAPs, the PathFactory Chrome Extension will de-anonymize the users who view content sent in emails only if the following two conditions are met:
- The email is only sent to 1 recipient. This means only 1 recipient in total, if using To, CC, or BCC
- You use the Embed content thumbnail option (not the copy link option).
