You can configure Call-to-Action (CTA) buttons to direct visitors to specific sections on a Landing Page through anchor links, enhancing navigation within Templated Experiences. This is useful when you have a very detailed or lengthy Landing Page, so you can create links within the page to improve navigation.
You can also configure how the anchor appears in the Landing Page URL to create a more branded and cohesive URL structure by renaming Section IDs. This customization makes URLs more meaningful and aligned with your brand identity and the Landing Page content. Renaming the Section IDs also helps with internal management by assigning clear, descriptive names to Section IDs.
Assigning clear, descriptive names to Section IDs streamlines the editing process by making it easier for your team to manage sections and create CTA links without confusion. This approach is particularly valuable when multiple editors are involved or when revisiting pages for updates.
Naming Section IDs clearly and descriptively helps your team quickly understand the purpose of each section, making it easier to manage and link sections without confusion. Recognizable names allow your team to identify the correct sections when creating CTA links, avoiding the confusion of system-generated IDs. This approach is especially useful when multiple editors are involved or when the page is updated later, as it helps prevent mistakes.
Follow the steps below to customize Section ID names and to link them to CTAs.
- Open a Templated Experience to edit and select its Landing Page Setup tab.
- On the editing menus on the right side panel, you’ll notice each section has its own Section ID.
- To copy the Section ID, click the copy icon as shown below and then proceed to Step 3.
- To rename a Section ID, enter a custom name in the field provided, as shown in the screen capture below. To cancel a name change, click the refresh icon in the name field.
- To paste the Section ID in a CTA, scroll down to the CTA section of the editing menu and expand by clicking on the menu’s arrows.
- Turn on the toggle for Primary CTA, and then fill in the following information:
- CTA Type – in this dropdown menu select Section Link.
- Section ID – in this field, paste the Section ID of the section you want to link it to.
- When you are finished specifying the appearance, color, and the Section ID link, click Save. Now when you open the Landing Page, the CTA will link to another section within the same Landing Page.
